Was supposed to wake up at 9 in the morning, but of course we overslept and left the house later than we should..
Tower of London. Castle in the middle of the city. Went through a tour of the castle, guided by a yeoman, but because I know nuts about British history, didn't know all the Philip the fifth or Charles the second or whatever, and I had a hard time catching the yeoman's accent, so I was quite sian. But we saw the crown jewels, and many crowns without jewels. Crazy huge diamonds, must weigh a ton. Royals must have strong heads.
England match in World Cup that afternoon. So many people wearing England jerseys on the streets.
Full armour. For knight and horse. Ok, British knights and horses must be strong too, to carry so much metal on them and still charge and fight. No wonder they enjoy courtly love so much, it must be so much easier to court a girl than to fight.
Swords and rifles. Looks like what they carried in Pirates of the Carribean.
Narrow spiral staircase of the castle
Tower bridge. An excellent piece of engineering. The bridge can open up in the middle to allow ships to pass through. Apparently they're still using the original machinery today to lift the bridge. If I'm not wrong it's the first bridge built after London bridge was removed because it hinders ships. And heads of those sentenced to death used to be put on the bridge for public display.
Portebello market. Sells all sorts of quainty stuff.. but was closing by the time we got there. Peeped into all the overfilled pubs for the progress of the soccer match. Don't really need to watch to know the score, just hear if people cheer..
Eating a cupcake on the street
Just a nicely painted truck
Hyde park
Sat there until the guy came to keep the benches, ie sat there for a total of 5min. Then tried to take a whole bunch of jumping shots but I don't have any on my camera. After asking 3 different passersby to take for us, we came to a conclusion that we can't let others take this kind of shots for us cos they don't know what crazy things we want. Then we dai-di-ed on the grass till dark, listening to the horrible rock concert playing in the park. Oh the balloons are from Harry Ramsden's, where we had fish and chips for dinner. Mushy peas are good =)
